The system right now makes a lot more sense than potentially bringing up 40 men, making 10 pitching moves a game, having three pinch-runners and two defensive replacements every game, it was a little circus-y at times the way games would be played in September and it doesn’t even resemble the game we play all year long and now it will. I think that’s a good thing.

Theres really no playbook, you certainly take advantage of the resources around you, the people who you trust, you rely on them in a lot of ways. I did that in a lot of different ways.

We have a group of young players here in Minnesota, a nucleus of young guys that were really coming into their own in a lot of ways, i think some of those guys were ready to take the next step in their career offensively, and a couple of those guys were doing that at the same time. We also complemented them with some quality, veteran players.
