I don't think coaches should have to wear mic's. It is an invasion of privacy. We are trying to accomplish things, and wearing microphones may hinder development by straining the nature of relationships coaches and players have.

We've got very few bodies right now so we were tired, but we've also got a lot of character and we want to win.

I played okay in my first preseason game but when I woke up that next morning and was a mess, that was when I started to think long and hard about what I was really capable of, about a week later, I played again and wasn't nearly ready. I felt I had to try and see if this was something I could break through after a few minutes on the court, and I clearly wasn't. I knew then I'd be lucky to play 10( NBA) games this season.

It was hard, in the end, it declared itself. I realized that I just couldn't do it any more. I couldn't sustain the rigors of the game with my back and so it( the decision) presented itself for me.

Obviously my career didn't end in the fashion that I wanted it to, at the same time, I've had an incredibly long career, 18 seasons. I've had back issues predominantly throughout my career and so when you have that in perspective, I could have very easily been finished eight, nine or 10 years into my career.

Those guys, those names, they still make me feel a certain way when I hear them today.

When I signed with the Lakers, I had big dreams of lifting the fans up and lighting this city on fire, i turned down more lucrative offers to come to L.A. because I wanted to be in the 'fire,' and play for high risk and high reward in my last NBA chapter. In my second game here, I broke my leg and nothing was the same.

The greatest gift has been to be completely immersed in my passion and striving for something I loved so much -- visualizing a ladder, climbing up to my heroes.

Once you have been through a certain amount of things in life, you definitely grow more comfortable with yourself. To persevere and hang in there and believe in yourself.

I've spent half my life in gyms, if not more, and I love physical fitness and health; couple that with the fact that I love for people to be healthy, whether it's mentally, physically, or emotionally, and it's just a great opportunity for me to do something I love and have an impact on people's health.

There are so many different ways to lead. The most important thing is to be genuine. To have people around you trust you, trust in what you stand for and who you are. And I think that if people watch you day in and day out and believe in your motives and they believe that you set a high standard for yourself.

I want my kids to have passion for life, to really have a passion for life. I think when you have a passion for something, you can overcome obstacles, if you float through life without having anything to hold on to or get you fired up emotionally and to focus on, I think it's really hard to overcome things.

It's a strange one - I've been away for 20 years now; I've been away longer than I lived in Canada, but for some reason I remain wholly Canadian.

I’m not averse to seeing how they’re doing and where they’re at, but it’s not something that I’m, like I said the other day, refreshing my feed daily.

I would welcome that.

We’ve been let down by this process a lot of times in a sense, we’re hoping and wanting him to be able to return, so we have not really, I think, put ourselves in a position to think it’s happening for sure. We just keep proceeding with the task that we can control. That's getting better every day and obviously we wish he was back yesterday, but the reality is we only focus on what we can control.
