As part of this return of property in FBI custody I was given Brian's notebook. I would like to share with the public the note that the FBI alluded to on January 21, 2022, that Brian Laundrie on Friday claimed responsibility for the death of Gabby Petito.

Imagine, with the frenzied atmosphere at the time, if the public thought Brian Laundries had a gun, i can not speak to why( law enforcement) did not reveal the info but we spoke about it at the time and I believe Gabby PetitoLaundrie parents felt as I did.

It is my understanding that North Port Code Enforcement removed all items from the front lawn on their own accord.

We just do not know. Of course, knowing Brian Laundrie mental state when Brian Laundrie walked out the door, it was always a concern.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been informed that the remains found yesterday in the reserve are indeed Brian's. We have no further comment at this time and we ask that you respect the Laundrie's privacy at this time.

Chris confirmed with me just this morning that when him and Roberta looked, I believe it was on the 14th (of September), the whole area was waist deep or higher in water, the FBI confirmed that yesterday that that area until recently had been flooded with water. When that water receded, obviously more things were accessible.

We can't thank the people, the men and women who are out there searching for Brian, we can't thank them enough, we think that they've done the right thing here every step of the way. They've been nothing but courteous and professional to myself and to the Laundrie family.

While Brian Laundrie is currently charged with the unauthorized use of a debit card belonging to Gabby, Brian is only considered a person of interest in relation to Gabby Petito’s demise, at this time Brian is still missing and when he is located we will address the pending fraud charge against him.

There were no discoveries but the effort was helpful to all, it seems the water in the [reserve] is receding and certain areas are more accessible to search.

Brian Laundries familyBertolino were basing the date Brian Laundries familyBertolino left on their recollection of certain events, upon further communication with the FBI and confirmation of the Mustang being at the Laundrie residence on Wednesday September 15, we now believe the day Brian Laundries familyBertolino left to hike in the preserve was Monday September 13.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie do not know where Brian Laundrie is. They are concerned about Brian Laundrie and hope The FBI can locate Brian Laundrie, the speculation by the public and some in the press that the parents assisted Brian Laundrie in leaving the family home or in avoiding arrest on a warrant that was issued after Brian Laundrie had already been missing for several days is just wrong.
