And, I'm appalled by the latest disclosure about the senior leadership's behavior and the lack of action by its board of directors, the senior leadership in that enterprise needs to be completely replaced. That includes the Board of Directors, every one of whom should be terminated immediately.

The governor is hopeful that Jon Kyl will continue to serve in the appointed Senate seat through 2020, at this point we would not speculate on a vacancy that does not exist.

I haven't been able to get that assurance from Sen. Kyl yet. What I have gotten is a commitment to serve Arizona through at least this session of Congress, and it's my hope that he serves longer, i'm hoping that the senator will consider serving longer.

We've all been listening - but now, it's time to act, my No. 1 focus right now is passing a 20 percent pay raise for Arizona teachers. This raise is earned, and it is deserved.

Arizona teachers are the biggest difference-makers in the lives of Arizona's children, and we need to reward them for their hard work -- this plan does that through a 20 % pay increase by school year 2020.

Anything we can do to further bolster these efforts is good news for Arizona and for our national security.

Not long from now, our children will be entrusted with protecting the principles on which this country was founded, and it is up to us to prepare them for that responsibility today.
