For now, the voters of Wisconsin will be able to cast their ballots free from the burdens placed on them by this law. But this should be the case for voters permanently, not just for one election, we are evaluating our next steps in the fight for the right of all Americans to vote free from unnecessary barriers.

In light of the Supreme Court's ruling, the Trump administration had no choice but to proceed with printing the 2020 census forms without a citizenship question. Everyone in America counts in the census, and today's decision means we all will.

I think the government has repeatedly said in its response to our filings that they intend to start printing on Monday, next week, so I think there really, really is not time and if the administration tries to rush it, that's a clear red flag.

We're pleased the state has agreed with the ACLU's position that imposing a new restriction on voters in the midst of an election is a recipe for disaster, for now, the voters of Wisconsin will be able to cast their ballots free from the burdens placed on them by this law. But this should be the case for voters permanently, not just for one election.
