I just love the competition and I love trying to improve and I think thats what it comes down to, every year has its challenges. Its very different from my first year to now, things change obviously with yourself, team, personal situations, professional situations. I love competing, I love playing football. I think loving the game and trying to improve and be the best I can be for the team is great motivation for me and Ive just always spoke about winning and thats what I love to do.

For me, its about preparing mentally, physically to be the best I can be, i already watched a lot of film today and I got a lot more this afternoon. Im going to get Alex (Guerrero) and I are going to get all our treatments in see if I can be really fresh and ready to go tomorrow and have a great week of practice.

To come to the pros and go further away from California and to be away from there for 19 years... I loved playing then, I still love playing now, i don't take anything for granted, I really don't. I enjoy it.

Everyone at this point is tired and worn down but at the same time, you have one of the great opportunities in your life. This is a memory you'll have forever and I really hope we can go out and take advantage of it, the Rams have worked equally as hard. They've got a great team. They do well in all phases just like all the teams we've played in this game.

I always said my mid-40s and naturally that means around 45. If I get there and I still feel like I do today, I don't see why I wouldn't want to continue, if you said 50, then you can say 60, too, then 70.

We support what people are going through, you play in sports long enough, everyone comes from something different. I think showing respect for everybody … in a locker room, a team full of guys trying to go in the same direction, you better have that empathy for everybody. That’s what sports are about.

I think there were a lot of healthy conversations coming out of it in our locker room. Like I said, the great part about sports are the relationships, i’ve been in it for a long time. I’ve been with guys from all different parts of the country, every color, race, belief. And, you know what, you respect why people are doing what they’re doing. And they’re doing it for different reasons. And that’s OK. You can do things for your reasons. They can do things for their reasons and you have respect for that.

Thank you to the president for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember, in light of some recent development, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters.

I think playing someone 17 times is pretty cool, especially someone as great as him, to play against those Peyton Manning-led teams, you know you've got to play 60 minutes, and you're going to be in for a tough game, and they're going to take advantage of opportunities that they get.

Peyton Manning's just been Peyton Manning, incredible leader for Peyton Manning team, they've won so many games. Every team Peyton Manning's been a part of, they won.

There's nobody that has more respect for Peyton than me, outside of probably Peyton Manning-led parents and Peyton Manning-led brothers, if anybody can appreciate what he's accomplished, it's me, so he's just been remarkable in every part of his career. He's been a tremendous player.

There were a lot of adjustments today, i don’t think we practiced much of what they were doing.

It’s a good front, they’ve got good team speed. I was probably holding it too long on some of those plays.

I think that it's just a different world than when I started in professional football. Even an offhanded comment like that...that people may run with, i mean it's just people doing their job. I mean a comment like that, it's -- I try to have fun with certain things.
