He's been spending the last couple of days just having a good time, talking to people, friends and family and so many well wishers that have called and his friends and then of course the well wishers that have tweeted, emailed, called, all of our phones. And we just really want to thank them.

What I saw and heard firsthand today by visiting with the families and seeing tent city was very disturbing, sheriff Arpaio did not even attempt to explain or excuse his inhumane treatment of people of color -- not that he could.

[Bernie] came, and everyone was swarming around him and the other candidates, because they weren't supportive of the mayor, so, being the good Catholic girl, of course I was very nice to the mayor and barely even said hello to Bernie, but when I heard him speak, well, that was it. The police department I was working with supported him after that, and he won 10 days later. We met at the victory party, and that was the beginning of forever.

I tell him all the time, you have to bring it back to the hope at the end, but no, he is not grumpy really, just except when the media doesn't pay attention.

I think every wife, or every husband, is the most important adviser of their spouse so I enjoy it very much, he doesn't always listen to me as you may know, i'm not a policy adviser. I just give him a lot of advice and he decides what to take and what not to.

I think there is a difference in where they want to bring the country, bernie comes from a place of, no matter what you're dealing with he comes to it from principle that becomes almost predictable. People say he's too predictable he says the same thing for so many years but different issues come to life but if you know Bernie you can almost always know that he's going to end up where it helps achieve fairness and equity especially for the most vulnerable among us.

Now that's more difficult, i think he has a little more experience than me in this area. I think he's great. I think they are both tremendous.

I think if I wasn't married to him I would be volunteering for him, honestly, there's no one I respect and admire more and that's a great place to be as a wife.
