It definitely is a teachable moment.

I was sad and depressed, issues with food were tied to my emotions, i didn't feel I was pretty enough to join a sorority, no other freshman girls looked like I did.

I had to ask the stewardess for an extender in front of everyone on the plane, I was horribly embarrassed and didn't want to put myself through that again.

I maintained a healthy diet, limiting my carbs and increasing my protein and kept a strict exercise regimen.

I don't really remember who that 'Joanna' was. I changed so much since my weight loss, my personality is different. Now I'm more outgoing.

I feel proud because I know I've come so far and I've worked really hard.

I don't have to battle a 400-pound person in the mirror. If the battle wound is the excess skin and I'm gonna live a lot longer and if I can help someone else lose weight, then it's worth it.

I am back to wearing my smallest size, 8/10, (I) was a 26/28 at my heaviest, and I am taking control of my life once again.
