I am extremely concerned about Syrian and ISIS recruiters can use the Internet at lightning speeds to recruit followers in the United States with thousands of followers in the United States and then activate them to do whatever they want to do, whether it’s military installations, law enforcement or possibly a Fourth of July event parade.

This administration has been a strong supporter of these solutions, and I commend the recent decision to deploy the National Guard to the border.

They’ve said they’re on the run for many years, and they’re not, i think the airstrikes have ramped up external operations … This is an unprecedented pace of terror in modern times. And so to say they’re on the run … absolutely defies reality.

The sad fact is, because we've had a failed policy and failed leadership, now we're having to rely on Russians and the Iranians to go into Syria to fight and destroy ISIS, and that's kind of where we are today. I think … it's this weakness invites aggression.

When you project weakness throughout the world and you have a failed foreign policy, this is what you get, and now we have chaos in the Middle East, have ISIS taking over Iraq, Syria, Northern Africa, Egypt. Now we have the Russiansin there; it has presented a very complicated strategy moving forward in terms of protecting the American people.

This is a very difficult counterterrorism challenge in the United States.

My judgment and experience is that this was an ISIS inspired attack. And it has been opened as a terrorism investigation by the FBI, which is a very significant event in this case.

In light of the three attacks in three hours on three continents overseas shows us that ISIS is just regionalized like the administration says only in Iraq and Syria but rather demonstrates a global threat, that they can conduct external operations and they’re very savvy doing that over the Internet.
