It was a bit of over-confidence ahead of our opener against Mexico, we thought we could just press the button and win. That was not the case.

We need to congratulate our opponents, we didn't deserve to win the title again, we didn't deserve to get into the last 16. We wanted to win but we didn't have what it takes.

You could hear already yesterday that players were self-critical, the German team just did not hit their top form. That can happen because at a World Cup you come up against tough opponents.
