It is absolutely vital that we do all we can to allow Americans to practice their religious ways, while simultaneously ensuring that no one's beliefs infringe upon those of others. We should also serve as champions of freedom of religion throughout the world.

And I think when people hear what the message is about everybody deserves a chance, everybody needs to be helped, I think that's an American message. I think that's a message that people relate to.

Why do gay people want to get married? Why do they say they want to get married? Because they want to have various rights -- property rights, visitation rights, why can't any two human beings, I don't care what their sexual orientation is, why can't they have the legal right to do those things? That does not require changing the definition of marriage.

Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight -- and when they come out, they're gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question.

I think that the Republican Party has a splendid opportunity to make the case that we want those people who are dependent in our society to be independent, we're creative people. If we use our resources, we can lift people out of poverty as well.

The most important thing for me is having a relationship with God. To know that the owner, the creator of the universe loves you, sent His Son to die for your sins; that's very empowering. Knowing Him and knowing that He loves me gives me encouragement and confidence to move forward.

Here's a nation, one of the founding pillars was freedom of speech and freedom of expression. And yet, we have imposed upon people restrictions on what they can say, on what they can think. And the media is the largest proponent of this, crucifying people who say things really quite innocently.
