I haven't been alone in years. It's that alone time when you really look yourself in the mirror and you see what you really want. It just gets a little convoluted in this industry. That said, I really want to act. But, now I think it's time for me to do something else for a while, so that I can feel that passion again.

I don't like wearing suits all the time. I don't like looking like the clean-cut kind of dude. I think the coolest guys are the ones who dress how they want to dress.

I didn't want to be on screen not nailing an American accent. It's an insult to an American! There are plenty of great American actors who can already do an American accent, so me, coming in and stealing their roles, the one thing I have to perfect is the accent. So for years I practiced. And we're lucky because the whole world is raised on a library of American movies. I would pretend to be Jim Carrey, and, I say Robin Williams now because he's in my mind, but those actors really inspired us to be crazy and be theatrical.

I enjoy so many different art forms; I don't just want to focus on acting. I love music. I love writing stories. And you need solitude to figure out your next step.

I got on Twitter because it was a way to express guitar and surfing, and who I was, but now - it's still fun, and I can do that - but I think it's more of a business. I thought it was a personal thing that actors could do themselves, but now it's become a tool that studios are trying to use to sell their movies.

Well, I haven't been an impulsive guy lately because I'm not in control of my own life. I'm living other peoples' requirements at the moment. It's the part of the job that is the most difficult for actors. I'm finding it very soul-jailing, you know? You don't have time to play guitar or speak to your friends and family. It's very demanding. I don't know how people do it, to be honest, without an alcohol.

You know what's funny about movies? You can watch one, and then you watch it again at a different stage in your life, and you understand different messages from the same film.

I want to go back home and make movies in Australia. There's so many stories that we haven't captured yet. In Australia, we cling on to whatever culture we have. We're such a multicultural country.

I guess my break in America came a little too early. It would've been nice to have a few more years to find out what I'm like as an actor without a camera on my face.

I was fortunate because my mum shared my love of film with me, so we would go to the movies twice, three times a week, and we would watch movies at home. As a teenager, instead of going out, we would have these huge movie nights in. But I almost failed drama at school. I hated it. It was all about the history of theatre.

I went to college at QUT: Queensland University of Technology. I studied for a Bachelors in finance and acting.

I was on a show called 'SliDE' when I graduated from college, and then that set the premise of my love for acting. It was so much fun. I was on set with my best friends every day. From that, I got 'Home and Away' and it was such a relaxed, friendly environment. Everyone's so kind and supportive.

When I was 16 years old, I joined a drama group called North Queensland Academy of Dramatic Art under a woman called Maggie Shephard-King. She inspired me to audition for the role of Romeo in 'Romeo and Juliet.'
