We always knew where John Conyers stood on issues of equality and civil rights in the fight for the people, thank you Congressman Conyers for fighting for us for over 50 years.

I should be on a plane to see her, but you all gave me even more love today as much I try to replace as much of what I would have been able to get when I got there.

Thank you for not politicizing what's happened to me, because I'm still Rashida Tlaib, more than anything, I'm Rashida Tlaib. I'm also proud of my Palestinian roots. And I'm also strong because I grew up in the most beautiful, blackest city in the country, in the city of Detroit.

Its a mistake to target members of Congress because of their views or their viewpoints, i think it was a mistake initially for the president to even tweet that they should not be allowed to go to Israel. I have faith in Israels ability to listen to two members of the United States Congress. So I think its been a huge mistake.

Just because someone has a person of color, a black person working for them, does not mean they aren't racist, and it is insensitive that some would even say -- the fact that someone would actually use a prop, a black woman in this chamber, in House Oversight Committee, is alone racist in itself.

What I'm criticizing is what's happening at the moment, and I want for there to be accountability so that the government, that administration, that regime can do better.

It was like it's our time and we have to march on and can't stand outside of the ring anymore, we have to actually have to run for office and we have to demand to have a seat at the table.
