I'm working hard mentally because I have to deal with some pains and some frustrations when I want to hit a good backhands and I can not do it, this year will be more like a comeback on to tour, to feel the pressure of tennis. I hope to be ready for being an aggressive player next season.

I am truly disappointed that I will not be able to return ... to defend my title, it is one of my favorite tournaments, and I have incredible memories from last year, but my doctors have advised me to rest. I hope to be back on court soon.

I wanted to do a big effort tonight. I fought until the last ball and had many opportunities, but it's hard to win matches when you can't move at 100 percent, the doctors say I need time if I want to be 100 percent, but I don't want to be home watching the tournaments on TV. I've done that before and it was really bad for me.

After the medical examinations today, it has been determined that I have suffered a groin strain (grade 1) in Rome, i have started to do rehab and will evaluate the situation in the upcoming days to decide whether I can play the French Open.

My last two to three years have been too complicated and too tough, today I am enjoying other things a lot more. One of the saddest things was not having my normal life, my routine.

Hopefully after my third surgery, the problem is almost fixed and I am here, playing tennis again, i'm still confident in my game and still looking forward to playing with the top guys in the same condition, not like (Indian Wells), when I couldn't hit my backhand at 100 per cent. Maybe in the future I will get that chance.

I’m not going drop my arms or surrender because of an injury. If my hand responds well, I’ll come back as soon as possible but that depends exclusively on my hand, it will decide my return, i’m in full recovery, I’m going faster than the time frame the doctor set for me as a goal and that has me enthused and that’s why I believe my return will be very soon.

The reception I got in Sydney made me feel fans had not forgotten me, it charged me with the energy to take the decision to go and see the doctor again losing no more time because I felt that if I recovered my physical condition I would rediscover my game and I don’t care how long it takes.
