I think oil prices will probably end the year higher than where they started it, stocks always look six months forward, so that's why we've been buying energy names.

More stable and more certain growth in China will certainly propel a more stable and stronger TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange).

It would seem that TransCanada is looking to take a step back from the situation and hopefully return under more favorable conditions, possibly a more supportive Republican administration.

The North American markets look fatigued, and a brief pause may be in order, both the S&P 500 and the TSX have been approaching overbought conditions from a technical perspective, and we are trading at the higher end of historical valuation ranges.

You will continue to see the U.S. market outperform Canada, energy is the wildcard, but it also presents the greatest opportunity. The TSX could rebound with any recovery in energy prices.

The market is adjusting to dramatically lower energy prices and a higher U.S. dollar, but the net net effect in the longer term is that it's going to be a benefit to the global economy, volatility is certainly going to take a step up this year, but that only presents an opportunity to take advantage of share prices if they become cheap.
