I knew what had just happened, that produce stand is still there and every time I drive by it, I still feel that pain. I realized that that Confederate flag was the same pain that so many people were feeling.

What I can tell you is over the last three and a half years, I spent a lot of my days on the phones with CEOs and recruiting jobs to this state, i can honestly say I have not had one conversation with a single CEO about the Confederate flag.

Today, as the Senate did before them, the House of Representatives has served the State of South Carolina and her people with great dignity, it is a new day in South Carolina, a day we can all be proud of, a day that truly brings us all together as we continue to heal, as one people and one state.
