I've made it clear : I think we ought to have a different direction in the future.

As the investigation continues, I will examine details to see if there are any steps that could have been taken to prevent this type of tragedy.

There's so many public policy decisions involved with this. CDC is only one of the entities that needs to be involved in this, and it really is a whole of government discussion, by the way, it's a whole of government discussion at the federal, state and local level. The governors need to be part of that discussion, too.

We look for effectiveness and we look for some measure of bipartisanship, and we really haven’t seen that yet.

Whether you talk about border security, whether you talk about Afghanistan withdrawal, whether you talk about the inflation challenges we have, all of those areas the grade is poor.

I had the opportunity to serve in the Bush administration and on border security, so I know how tough it is. I would not say we ought to reverse course, but if we had to start it all over again, I would have kept( all the doses) within the state, because we could utilize all those federal partners within our own allocation.

As everyone has indicated, there shouldn't be any change in the date of the election. That is historic. It is constitutional. It is required. And it's up to the states to conduct fair elections with integrity, we are going to do that in Arkansas. We are going to have expanded absentee ballot access. But we want to do it with proper controls and to minimize any fraudulent activity.
