After all these years, it is surprising to be the No. 1 seed, in the top two rankings at 36. I didn't think that was ever going to happen, to be honest, that has been the surprise for me, that sometimes there is a set like this. I was just very happy that I was able to protect my serve, find a way to break, create opportunities. I think I can be very pleased.

Denis has played an excellent tournament and made it difficult for me, so I am of course very glad to have made it.

It's a great comeback for me, i'm really happy. I thought it was a good final from my side. I think I played very well throughout the tournament, actually, having not played for a while.

Having lost here last year in the first round, for me, it resets the goals as well, and just take it one at a time and don't think too far ahead, not that I did that last year, but on grass, margins are very slim. It's not so simple, especially when you haven't played in three months.

I came back very strong and my reaction was very good after losing here against Tommy, i didn't drop a set for the rest of the grasscourt season, which I was very happy about. So I just hope I can find my rhythm and range a bit earlier.

On the ATP level... if you can't play, you still get your prize money twice in the year. Maybe the grand slams should adopt some of that, then maybe we would eliminate half of the players (who turn up injured), a player should not go on court if he knows he could not finish. The question is, did they truly believe they were going to finish? If they did, I think it's okay that they walk on court. Otherwise, I feel they should give up the spot.

I don't want to be at the mercy of my opponent. I want to take charge, play aggressive myself, so for that I need to be fast on my feet and quick in my mind. I just need enough rest so I can play enough inspired tennis.

When you're down two sets to love, three-all, love-40, it's a moment when it's not in your control anymore, there were many more match points in my mind than just three today. But I fought, I tried, I believed. At the end I got it done.

I know what I'm getting into, he's really tough to play. He's really improved his serve in the last few years, especially since the U.S. Open. He can clearly do it here at Wimbledon, too.

Right now I enjoy everything about Wimbledon, clearly I missed being in Paris... but that decision was for Wimbledon, it was for the rest of the season, it was for the rest of my career.

It's a great, great story and I'm very, very excited to be playing Marcus Willis actually. It's the best story in tennis for a while, it's going to be a great atmosphere.

Time heals a lot of problems, a lot of issues, it's another day, another step in the right direction. It gives me confidence as I hopefully move forward.

It was much better for me to look forward to the rest of the season, rest of my life, really, i didn't want to have setback after setback and injure Roger Federer maybe further. In hindsight, that was definitely the right decision.

I get that you think I'm old and all that. But it doesn't scare me when I go into a big match against any player who's in their prime right now, novak Djokovic right now is a reference for everybody. Novak Djokovic's the only guy that has been able to stop me as of late.
