I view this week as a major opportunity for any number of countries to play an important role in trying to resolve some of the very difficult issues of the Middle East. We need to achieve peace and a way forward in Syria, in Yemen, in the region itself, and I think there are opportunities this week, through these discussions, to make some progress.

We all have differences on one piece of legislation or another, but in proposing what she has proposed together with Sen.( Ed) Markey, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has in fact offered more leadership in one day or in one week than President Trump has in President Trump lifetime on this subject.

This isn't good for the United States and there are people across the aisle - as the Senate vote yesterday clearly showed - who know it and need to say it.

Our friends are safer if we stay in this agreement. We made an agreement, Iran is living by the agreement, yes we have concerns on the missiles and Yemen and other things, but we should be working on those.

He never walked away from the table, except to be in that bicycle race where he fell and broke his leg, that was the only time.

American values are universal values, now is not the time to retreat... now is the time for the US to engage.

I wouldn't view this as a moment of despair, moment of setback, I would view this as a continuing process.

So we have to work on intellectual property. We have to work on transparency and accountability, we have to work on certainty and the rules of the road.

It is a contributor to terrorism in many different ways and the extremism that we see in the world today comes to no small degree from the utter exasperation that people have with the sense that the system is rigged, we see this anger manifesting itself in different forms in elections around the world, including ours.

The hope is we can make some progress, these are critical hours, we look for Russia’s cooperation, and we obviously look for the regime to listen to Russia and to respond.

I have deep reservations about just an all-volunteer military, there should be shared responsibility among all Americans.

Every American ought to find a way to serve, somehow. It doesn’t have to be in the military. I like the idea that everybody ought to give back something.
