If I was running as a middle-aged white guy 30 years ago, I would have an advantage. Today, I don't, right ? as the father of four daughters, I'm really excited that at least the Democratic Party is at a point in its history where you don't get an advantage for being a white male, but you have to earn it.

I think we should be the party that keeps what's working and fixes what's broken.

It is a time for bold solutions. But we also have to put our shoulder behind things that can actually get done, because climate, Jake, is not like other issues. We have an infrastructure issue in this country. But if we wait five years to deal with our infrastructure, it's a missed opportunity. But it doesn't get exponentially worse, so we have to deal with climate change right away.

I grew up in a time when we had institutions in our society that really supported people. And I don't think we see that here today, i mean, I grew up in a blue collar family. My dad was an electrician. Neither of my parents went to college. I needed scholarships from my dad's union to give me the opportunity to get the education that I have received. And I had this amazing kind of American dream-type life where I worked hard and played by the rules.

I also believe strongly in the freedom of religion, right, and I believe strongly in the separation of church and state. So I don't believe religious doctrine should inform public policy.

The most important thing for a president to do is to be honest, if you're not honest about the problem, it's very hard to be honest about the solution. And what that happens, you don't get anything done.

I don't think they are right about that, i think if you have enjoyed some financial success, which I have, and you want to invest It in trying to make the country a better place, which I do( you should be able to). I think at the end of Election Day in 2020, the American people love people who are successful.

The fundamental premise of the no-negotiation strategy is that if you start doing those things, you will lead to more hostages being taken. And I think that's a very valid concern.

I think it's short-sighted, the report makes clear is that we haven't done a good job here ... When you have a problem you've got to stop with incremental solutions and you need more of a wholesale solution.
