If the part numbers that are stamped on the pieces of the plane still survive, it literally could be a phone call to Boeing or the parts indices to see if it belongs to a 777. And if it belongs to a 777, it is MH370.

I go out of my way to stay off commuter planes. I have skipped conferences because I would not fly on marginal airlines (and because of many mishaps, I also avoided flying on ValuJet).

The airline has the right to substitute equipment, if you could book a 737 500, and you find out it's a 737 MAX, technically they don't have to honor your request. ... So you don't have a right to specify you are not going to go on a 737 MAX.

The Lion Air flight was a big deal for Boeing, but they managed to overcome The Lion Air flight, they put out the emergency warning about training, and the industry went on. With the second one, I don't think everybody's going to forget.

The problem is the only way for parts of the plane to get to Reunion Island is to continue to float, the flaperon could because there are spaces inside that part that could allow air to be trapped and for it to float.

It picks up other sounds like clicks, things going wrong, thuds, hail. You can hear that on the windshield.

This weather system might have built up very quickly and they're on their own up there. With the weather up to 52,000 feet, and the operation ceiling is up to about 40,000 on this plane, so they might not have had many options.

They need to be searching the water but not necessarily for a plane, they need to be searching for any clues.
