If these negotiations do not help countries to deal with the real impacts of climate change, and only prioritize emission targets, they will have failed the very people this agreement is meant to protect.

I can't imagine an agreement which is going to last for at least 15 years ... that doesn't mention loss and damage, disasters are hitting us one after another.

There are so many crises happening at this moment but the document shows no courage, no urgency in dealing with that, and no specifics, it's going to take the fizz out of all the excitement one was hoping to see around the SDGs... It's like you are building a train, but you are not really putting fuel into it so the vehicle can't move.

The question we should be asking ourselves is if even a 1.5 degree warmer world will be safe for us? the impact ... is going to be several times more than we are seeing now.

When the world is changing so fast, and we are facing a lot of disasters, unless we have some very ambitious targets, we won't be able to fix things.

Rich nations have been dragging their feet, but we can't allow this essential element to slip off the table.
