If we were under the men's contract, we would be making three times more, you can look at the total compensation and say,' Oh, National Team made a little bit more.' In that time that we made just a little bit more, we've won two World Cups and we've won just about every single game that we've played in. So the rate of pay is just so different. And it's just so frustrating. To be honest, I think so many women go through this.

Success for us is very simple and it is very clear from the first second that you get on the team, whether it is like a passing pattern or a small-sided game or a friendly or a World Cup final — it's winning, it's competing to the best of your ability, it's trying to be the absolute best that you can so for us the expectation is always the same, success for us looks like winning.

I feel like it's actually everybody's responsibility to use whatever platform they have to do good in the world, basically, and to try to make our society better, whether you're an accountant or an activist or an athlete or whatever it is. I think it's everybody's responsibility.

Being a woman, we talk about equal pay all the time. We're not talking about if you're black or if you are Latina. I would like to get back to that and improving the relationship between the police community and the community of color.
