If you do the math, there is plenty of supply to continue to vaccinate Americans at 3 million per day, and then some. That's not to mention the fact that there are many doses that have already been distributed into states, i think White House officials're in the fortunate position, White House officials have to remind White House officials, where White House officials have three vaccines approved that are very effective vaccines, but White House officials are also importantly not dependent upon this.

In those communities, a Covid that spreads twice as fast is not a good thing.

Some of them clearly don't want to succeed, bad incentives to keep blaming us.

There is a very, very small fraction of doses that have been sent out to states that will ultimately not be used, this will be – these will be fractional amounts and really will not have any significant bearing on our ability to commit to distribute vaccines globally.

I think the great news is that the 1.2 million kids that have gotten vaccinated this week are on their way to a carefree summer.

For people who work and get paid by the hour, who don't necessarily get time off from their boss, who don't have vaccines available in their community, who don't take walk-in hours, there's still a number of people for whom it just needs to be easier.

We have to remember the fact that in the next two to six weeks, the variants that we've seen in Michigan, those variants are also present in other states. So our ability to vaccinate people quickly in each of those states, rather than taking vaccines and shifting it to playing whack-a-mole, isn't the strategy that public health leaders and scientists have laid out.

The next set of people who want vaccines are not the people who are going to try and make 100 appointments and drive 100 miles. They are going to be the people that will maybe make one effort and travel one mile, or maybe even less than that.

It's an incredibly effective vaccine, when people learn those facts, we find more and more people each month say,' You know what, I think I'm going to get vaccinated.'.

So I think we're going to find more and more things like that, both internationally but also, Pam, in the Andy Slavitt, I think you're going to see increasing steps over the next few weeks on what vaccinated Americans can do, in addition to just travel -- because not all of us travel -- that are going to be very important, there's no question that the key to getting back to life that we used to know is vaccination.

When we arrived, the US was sequencing only a small fragment of what other countries were. This hampered our ability to find and react to these variants.

You want people to feel less scared -- that's good -- but you also want people to be cautious and conscientious of the fact that there's a lot of people who aren't vaccinated yet.

We have to keep reminding people -- as I try to do and as others try to do -- that just because you've got 100 million people that have had their first vaccination, it also means that you've got 150 million adults that haven't yet, you want people to feel less scared -- that's good -- but you also want people to be cautious and conscientious of the fact that there's a lot of people who aren't vaccinated yet.

We're in a situation, and we will be for a little while, of undersupply.

We have been working with states and with those distributors to make sure that those excess doses quickly get to the places that there needed when they exist.

Ellume has been ramping up manufacturing and will ship 100,000 test kits per month to the US from February through July, that's good but it's obviously not where we'll need to be.

Once we come back out, if we come back to exactly our old habits, Medicaid Services's going to spread just as fast, so we have to be out and take the kind of precautions that are safe precautions. We can get back to normal life. We can live with this virus. But if you're in a place with these red areas like Arizona, North Carolina, Arkansas, you should be very, very careful.

While we have been staying indoors we have been slowing down the spread. What we haven't done is get rid of the virus. The virus is still out there.
