It's frustrating not being able to win golf tournaments, not really being there in contention very often... but I know how close it feels and I know I just need a couple of shots here and there and it turns the tide, people don't really realize how close it is between a person who is winning( a tournament) and a person missing the cut.

I didn't think that it would take this long because I thought I would have my short game earlier, you can cover up a lot of different things when you're chipping and putting well. I didn't have it at the beginning of the year... so that process of scoring has taken a lot longer because of that. But things are starting to come together.

I think it's great for him to play, get the playing feels, keep the playing feels going, feels travel. He's played enough links-type golf courses.

It's the best I've hit it in a very long time. I had full control over all the clubs, i made some nice strides heading into the Open. I'll do some good work next week and be ready.

I just had to make a couple of tweaks and I felt like I pulled that off, it's finally starting to click in now.

Short-term suffering for long-term gain, i've done this before when I've made changes in the past, I've struggled through it. I've come out on the good side.

I hit the ball pretty good today, it's getting better every day. I'm starting to get the feel for this golf course and what I need to do off the tees and where to miss it around the greens (with approach shots) to certain pins.

There's plenty of time, i needed tournament golf and it was nice to have Memorial in there and to be able to play a golf course that's that difficult, that hard, that demanding from tee to green.

It felt good. Knowing that I had to make( a) four to move on, at least assure Tiger Woods to move on, it felt good, i feel like I'm playing well enough to get Tiger Woods up there. I just need one good round and narrow up that gap between Tiger Woods and the lead, and I feel like I can do that.

It is tough, there's no doubt, i'm not going to lie about that. It is tough. And on top of that, this time of year is really, really hard on me. This three-day window is really hard. I haven't slept these three days, May 3 and through... today, (it) is just brutal on me. And then with obviously what happened on Sunday, it just adds to it.

I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I'll always cherish our time together, she has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It's difficult to spend time together.

Once you're inside the ropes, it's time to tee it up and time to play, you go out there, and for me I focus, I get into my little world, my little zone and do the best I possibly can for that -- well, it used to be four hours; now it's five-hour rounds -- a five-hour time period, grind it out and win golf tournaments. Because at the end, to me, that's what I want to do that particular week, is win a tournament.
