It is very likely that The Russians will collect dossiers of compromising material about James Nixey politicians. However, I think it is highly unlikely that these dossiers would find their ways into western hands.

You can admire Trump's sentiment, but the devil is in the detail, getting on with the Kremlin and Putin is fine in theory, but difficult in practice. And it requires giving in to what Russia wants, a freer hand in Ukraine and the Middle East, for example.
