Our banks always demonstrate that they got real resilience ... trying to paint a more negative story around Brexit won't stand too long.

They're all making the right moves; they continue to cut costs, when they come out the other side there's going to be some pretty significant leverage that comes through from the top line.

If people are looking for income, some of these (telecom)stocks that have got beat up provide pretty interesting returns.

People are picking away where they see some interesting opportunities outside energy, but otherwise there's a lot of playing around going on.

Oil prices breaking through $50 certainly was hurting ... (and) will be tough to navigate through, just in terms of (Canadian) dollar weakness, it's making people question what they want to do.

I think it's going to be very earnings-driven, it's a sloppy market because it's summer time. But yes, people will be focusing on some of the bigger names to see how they perform.

People look at today's economic numbers and say 'Hey, this is a trend that's probably going to continue for a while before it gets better,'.

(The market's) just trying to figure a timing on when we might see an uptick in interest rates, i think people are still counting on that liquidity in the marketplace and if that liquidity moves away and the rates go up, then people are going to have a different view of how they look at equities.

We had a pretty run on a lot of names, so I think there's also profit taking - 'sell in May, go away,'.
