It's an age thing even more than a political-leaning thing, the (Facebook) group itself has a lot of people from the right and the left, and they all agree on that one thing -- that involved fatherhood is important for everyone.

Mostly brands realize that ... dads don't like to be looked at as buffoons, i think moms don't like to see their partners as buffoons, and brands are moving away from that.

That's not to say that there are not egregious examples ... dads shown as being ridiculous or totally clueless. mostly brands realize that ... dads don't like to be looked at as buffoons.
