It's not that the message is not resonating with the African-American community, it's that we haven't communicated with them yet, we have been busy building our organization and making sure that we have enough people on the ground to have those conversations.

I feel pretty pleased with where we are at this point, the traditional route is always to go and get as many elected officials as you can ... and we've been blessed to get selected elected officials from across the state. But we've also gotten the student body presidents of two [historically black colleges and universities]; the president of the Young Democrats of South Carolina, an African-American, and 250 small black businesses. They are helping us support Bernie.

We've had a lot of good conversations at the doors and on the phones about the ad. People want to learn more about his stance on criminal justice and the $15 minimum wage. It's been a great help to us here in the last couple of weeks.
