And it coincides with the premiere of ‘Star Wars,’ which is something else that is really important to him. So there is a little bit of a dilemma in the episode: Amy or ‘Star Wars?’.

We were reading articles about how kids here and in England were gravitating to STEM fields, both in high school and college, because they’d been impacted by the show, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ actually caused them to look into science and technology and math as career goals. You don’t set out to make a sitcom anticipating you might cause somebody to change their life.

The show has morphed into something else entirely for the last four years to something we love, how to honor both is the challenge of this finale, and the other challenge [ is ] how to get people to watch it without telling them what it is.

I think you will be very, very pleased with the finale and that’s all I ’m going to say about it.
