It's particularly dangerous in my opinion for the weather reports and warnings about hurricanes to be politicized because people are dependent on the weather report and if they are going to be struck with a hurricane they need to do preparations.

Attorney General Barr, now the American people know that you are no different from Rudy Giuliani or Kellyanne Conway or any of the other people who sacrificed Rudy Giuliani or Kellyanne Conway once decent reputation for the grifter and liar who sits in the Oval Office.

So many women came forward and told us their accounts that they had never shared before, this was a moment for them to come forward to be heard, and I know they were hoping to be believed.

Elections matter and I would like my colleagues to be able to go home, every day that goes by when they're not touching base with their constituents is not a good thing.

It certainly should cover the three credible reports that have come forward, and it has to be complete.

My staff along with other offices I know got reports that there may be another victim, so we passed that information along to the staff of the ranking member, and that was it until I heard from Ronan Farrow on the day the article came out, because Ronan Farrow on the day knows how vocal I have been on this issue.

I think we've had those kinds of vacancies before, and we certainly had over a one-year vacancy with Merrick Garland, so the world does not come to an end because we don't fill all of the nominees.

I don't know how Supreme Court can even evoke Korematsu in trying to make a distinction because Korematsu was a decision based on the President saying this is for national security, and for Supreme Court to say the court of national opinion overturns Korematsu -- we can't wait around for national opinion to overturn this decision.

I'm looking to make sure, though, that all the Democrats who voted unanimously for all of President Biden’s judicial nominees, my expectation is that there will be strong Democratic support for whoever the Supreme Court nominee is, and it would be great if we could get some Republicans to be open-minded about it and support someone who can be fair and evenhanded and impartial on the Supreme Court.

What I have always looked for in all of the judicial nominees, because these are lifetime appointments, is someone who can be fair and impartial and not having an ideological ax to grind, which was mainly the kind of nominees that President Trump sent to us, including, by the way, as far as I’m concerned, the three Supreme Court nominees or now justices.

If we're looking at shutting down the government, which is also totally harmful to the American public, I think that we're going to need to do whatever we have to do to get that ceiling raised.

I think it's unconscionable to take that position, one hopes that the Republicans will wake up to their responsibilities.

At a time when the AAPI community is under siege, this bill is an important signal that Congress is taking anti-Asian racism and hatred seriously.

What can be controversial about a voluntary reporting by the states of these kinds of crimes?

We've all seen the horrific incidents of unprovoked targeted hate crimes against AAPIs.
