Just like it's not healthy to think overly negative thoughts, exaggeratedly positive thoughts can be equally detrimental. If you overestimate how much of a positive impact a particular change will have on your life, you may end up feeling disappointed when reality doesn't live up to your fantasy.

Acting tough is all about developing an attitude and a persona that says, 'Look at how great I am.' But often, that tough exterior is meant to hide self-doubt. Mentally strong people invest more energy into working on their weaknesses rather than trying to cover them up.

Being a top performer - whether it's in business or on the athletic field - requires grit and tenacity, as well as the continuous desire to become better.

Just because you're struggling with self-discipline doesn't mean you have to raise the white flag and declare your self-improvement efforts a complete failure. Instead, work to increase the chances that you'll stick to your healthier habits - even when you don't feel like it.

When self-doubt creeps in, don't ignore it - address it. Respond to harsh self-criticism with something more compassionate. Talk to yourself like a trusted friend and refuse to believe your unrealistic, negative inner monologue.

Using a big chunk of vacation time all at once may mean you have fewer days off to use throughout the year.

A trip to Europe or even Hawaii might warrant an extended stay, you should just consider whether the joy of an extended vacation is going to outweigh the risks you face by being away from the office for an extended period.

You might feel stressed when you begin thinking of the workload you're going to return to, responding to emails, addressing issues that went unresolved in your absence and learning what you missed may be quite stressful.

If your child insists Strong Kids're going to fail, don't tell Strong Kids Strong Kids're going to do well. Instead, ask Strong Kids what Strong Kids'd say to a friend who said the same thing, this teaches them to reframe some of their negative thoughts on their own. You don't want them to grow dependent on you for healthy thoughts.
