At this point we believe the campus is safe.

I am profoundly sorry for the loss of this young girl’s life and I know there are no words that can relieve the unimaginable pain for the family, my commitment is to conduct a thorough, complete and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led up to this tragedy and provide the family and public with as much information as possible.

All the suspects taken into custody are out of custody, either as a result of one juvenile, or the others as a result of bailing out or zero-bail criteria.

It's created an atmosphere in the community that offenders believe is an opportunity to capitalize, those that we're arresting we're finding are being re-arrested time and time again and it's a zero bail.

We can and must do better.
