I think that it's an inexact science, but the trick is this: not to quit on anything too soon. All of this takes time. It's an investment.

I prefer people to disagree with me because I really don't think I'm smart enough to know what all the answers are and I think the back and forth ... we have a lot of it in our office, strong personalities, big intellects, good ideas - I think that back and forth has produced better strategies and tactics for us than if I sat in my office and decided we're doing those 10 things and that's the end of it.

Baseball is actually interesting, I don't find me to be that interesting. But I am realistic enough to understand it's not about me, it's about the fact that I'm speaking for the game and people care so deeply about the game that they're watching to make sure that you do the right thing. And I feel a real responsibility to try to do the right thing as a result.

I hope that the biggest change in the game is that people are saying that Major League Baseball owns the next generation. That is what I aspire to, everything we're trying to do is about that, and I hope I have enough time and enough help to get that done.

I think two things are happening that are really important, i think people know a lot more about the players that are being selected than they used to, and as a result theres a lot more interest. We do believe clearing the game schedule is important so that the focus is on what goes on here tonight. This is, after all, our future the lifeblood of the game. And we will continue to look for ways to make this as big an event as we possibly can.

We drew straws for that game and I lost. My good client friends at Major League Baseball did not come through with a ticket for me, i was outside( the park) that night. My wife is still mad about missing it.
