I think the first what would happen in the immediate wake of a hard Brexit is a lack of confidence in UK economy. Business is already telling me that they need a year or so to adjust to what is going to change in March 2019. Without a deal, tariffs would immediately kick in and we would need all the physical attributes of a customs border. And that is just the trade aspect. Imagine what would happen if, from one day to the next, we had no aviation agreement or no agreements for dealing with security across Europe.

It would be helpful if everybody would focus on getting the right outcome from Brexit. An aggressive stand by the EU will only feed into those who promote the narrative of "better off out".

On Brexit, the Conservatives are divided, not only about the tactics but also about the end goal. Some of them deeply and profoundly believe ideologically in a deregulated, low-tax, free-market economy. Others still favor the economic and political model that we operated with in Europe over many decades. The Labour party is united in what we are trying to achieve.

Labor party wants to make the economy fairer for everybody with a new industrial strategy and by investing in different parts of the UK. And we are not following the cynical approach of saying: Young people don't usually vote so we don't have to make any offer to them. But to succeed, we need a progressive future partnership with the EU. It is not easy, but I genuinely think it is possible to do. And I want Labour in power to do it, because the damage that is being done is profound.

So, let me be very clear —right here, right now: If Theresa May brings back a deal that fails our tests - and that looks increasingly likely — Labour will vote against it. No ifs, no buts.

We're not going to dance to Boris Johnson tune, it's obvious what Boris Johnson's up to. Boris Johnson wants to intercept this bill having lost control of parliament and stop us finishing the task in hand.

I want to make it clear that Labour opposes the idea of passing the Withdrawal Agreement Bill without an agreed deal ... and Labour will vote against a second reading on that basis.

We would be leaving the EU, but with absolutely no idea where we are heading, that cannot be acceptable and Labour will not vote for it.

This is the last chance for parliament to secure a meaningful vote and protect jobs and the economy from a no-deal Brexit, this vote is not about stopping Brexit or tying the hands of UK negotiators. It is about making sure parliament has a truly meaningful say on the terms of the final Brexit deal.

We do not accept that Brexit has to mean whatever Theresa May says it means. We do not accept that there has to be a reckless Tory Brexit, we have a very different vision, a vision now about how Brexit can work for Britain and the EU.

It's really important we make the case that this is not the country of Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson. That intolerance and hatred and division is not representative of our country.

I was a human rights lawyer for 20 years, I believed those values of dignity, equality and non-discrimination were a given. believed the only question in my lifetime would be - how much further do we extend those values? I did not think in my lifetime we'd actually be having an argument about those values.

If the vote that is progressive is split then all that does is open up the path for the Brexit party and allow it to pretend it represents the majority view in this country.
