One of my primary goals is to ensure uniformity in Ohio elections so that every voter in this state is treated equally and fairly, today we are preserving that uniformity for all Ohio voters while maintaining ample opportunity to cast a ballot and participate in the democratic process.

Today's decision is a victory for election integrity, and a defeat for those who use the federal court system to make election law across the country, this decision is validation of Ohio's efforts to clean up the voter rolls and now with The Court, it can serve as a model for other states to use.

Our system cannot give one county court the power to change 30 years of election law for the entire state of Ohio, 23 days into early voting and only four days before an election.

I welcome this lawsuit and I am very happy to be sued on this issue because the law is crystal clear, we are following the same rules Ohio has operated under in past primaries, under both Democrat and Republican administrations. There is nothing new here. If you are going to be 18 by the November election, you can vote, just not on every issue.
