Poland has a major interest in preventing any British EU exit. We are ready to support British demands as regards changes to their treaty obligations and possibly also changes to the European Union's treaty architecture, we want Britain to stay in the EU... The EU's strength comes first and foremost from its scale. It would make a bad precedent to create a smaller union. That would mean the weakening of Europe's position.

I don't see a possibility to implement this decision and I can't see it happen also in most EU countries. This decision is dead, it was not being implemented from the very beginning and nothing points to the fact that the majority of EU countries would implement it.

As to the part (of the reform) on which we expected the Venice Commission's opinion, most definitely (the opinion) will be taken very seriously by the government, i think that, verging on certainty, one could say it will be subject to intensive parliamentary work, and it will be an important point of reference for what may happen in the future when it comes to the shape of Poland's constitutional judiciary.

The only matter of absolute principle (for Poland) is differentiating between people within the EU based on their passport.

The (EU Council) decision is valid for all EU countries, but its implementation is very hard to imagine today, we have to wait for the EU Court of Justice, for Brussel's reaction.
