Some have portrayed Obama's intervention as backfiring - I wouldn't go that far but this poll does suggest that Obama hasn't given the remain team a boost at all, it hasn't been a game changer, it hasn't shifted opinion - it hasn't really made much difference at all.

There's a chance that there are people who are almost subconsciously put off (voting for Khan) by the dog-whistle racism ... people who wouldn't like to say 'I'm not going to vote for Sadiq Khan', but will have a wobble at the ballot box.

The only effect of the Zac Goldsmith campaigning is probably just to entrench all those long-standing issues the Conservative Party have got with appealing to ethnic minority voters.

Leaflets and literature are the sort of things that change minds, and knocking on doors and talking to people is all about energizing people - getting the vote out and people to commit, it's not sexy, and it's the boring administrative stuff behind any election, but it matters.

Whilst oil prices have gone down, support for independence has remained constant, obviously if there was a referendum now, it would be one of lots of very awkward questions for the SNP... but there isn't a referendum now.
