It means a lot. I missed an opportunity the first time and I knew this was one I couldn’t miss, i’ll be able to ramp it up a little bit quicker. I'm looking forward to playing for our country.

It’s just one of the things that’s got to get right before I start swinging, it is frustrating for sure. I can’t really pinpoint what caused it. It just started to bother me.

I’ve got nine more years left on the contract, so I could see down the road possibly moving to a corner, a lot of good things (about it), they tell me. Obviously, corner outfield is less on your body. Just trying to keep me out there for 162 games. Just coming in, I want to play center field, obviously. We had a great conversation about it, and we’ll go from there.

I just feel comfortable out there, natural, i basically said, ‘Tell me what I need to work on. I’ll get better at it.’.

I feel great, it's the best I've felt in a while. No issues with the calf. Don’t feel it at all. Great offseason. No setbacks.

My body wasn't healing right, i couldn't really point at one thing. We threw everything at it. When I was shut down, I basically didn't do anything. I just let it heal on its own for a few weeks. I got back into my training right away. The first two weeks, I felt a little tightness in there. It went away, and I haven't thought about it since.

It just came to a point where I thought it was time to say something, we were ready to play, and no one was moving, and then it just seemed like it all came together. People were getting antsy for sure.

Everything in the past, you look at it, (but) it's a new year, obviously all the stats and everything were great in the past, but you've got something to prove this year. I come in every year to do that. I try to be the best player on the field at all times. That's my mentality, and the biggest thing is staying healthy.

He’s getting the treatment. I told him to be patient, obviously, he’s being patient because he’s getting walked — but don’t let it get to you. Don’t change your approach. We’re playing a team tonight that’s in the race. They’re trying to win. They’re not going to give him anything to hit. They’re going to try to pitch around him.

If it’s any reaction like he gets at the ballpark I’m sure it’s going to be pretty exciting, i’m trying to have him take batting practice at the Little League Field, see how far he can hit them. That’d be pretty fun. What he’s doing on the field, I can’t put anything else to it. I’ve never seen anything like it.

It didn’t feel like it hit any of the pad, but the replay showed obviously the pad helped me a lot, hopefully I’ll be in there tomorrow.
