The center of the committee will likely recognize that the data do not suggest any material slowdown in the U.S. economy and that financial markets have stabilized, at least for now, the best course of action in this situation is to leave rate hikes on the table at the next couple of meetings.

I would think she will try to clarify things, one way or the other, because I cannot possibly think they are unaware of the problem that they have.

They don't have to raise rates tomorrow morning, we will see how the economy does, and if it does not look like this is going to be a big deal then it is squarely up to U.S. data.

This means that the Fed will be a large and active participant in the bond market for the next few years.

It is going to take a long time to get back to 2000, to the absolute best situation, if ever, it might be impossible.
