The defense idea is that the jury is going to get to take its anger out on Tsarnaev by finding him guilty and then, hopefully, they will be able to set that aside and determine the question of punishment, should be live or die, a little more neutrally.

That seems unrealistically short, three weeks, to me, would be maybe enough in an ordinary capital case, but I don't see this as an ordinary case.
