The key point here is that selling these leases will do nothing to help with gas prices.

The Wyoming [ sale ] is by far The Wyoming -LSB- sale, what they've done in every state but Wyoming is keep the lease sale really small.

What this sale will do is lock in about 188 square miles of public lands for oil and gas for the long-term, there's a fundamental disconnect with what they're doing with their lease sale and what they've committed on climate.

We have evidence, we have the citizen's camera's video, the horrible, horrific, terrible thing we have all seen over and over again, we have the officer's body-worn camera, we have statements from some witnesses.

We are going to investigate it as expeditiously, as thoroughly and completely as justice demands, sometimes that takes a little time, and we ask people to be patient. We have to do this right.

That video is graphic and horrific and terrible, and no person should do that, but my job in the end is to prove that he violated criminal statute. And there is other evidence that does not support a criminal charge. We need to wade through all of that evidence to come through with a meaningful determination, and we are doing that to the best of our ability.

We support peaceful demonstration, violence hampers our case, it takes valuable police resources away from our investigation, and it also harms innocent people.

As is the case in many sexual assault incidents, it was a complicated situation, it is also similar to other sexual assault cases with the suspect maintaining the sex was consensual.

There is ... an element of race that needs to be discussed, my feeling on this -- and it's backed up by several interviews with Seahawks players -- is that some of the black players think Wilson isn't black enough. This is an issue that extends outside of football, into African-American society, though it's gotten better recently. Well-spoken blacks are seen by some other blacks as not completely black. Some of this is at play.
