The President has always emphasized the importance of making deals with Russia as it relates to Syria, Ukraine, defeating ISIS and other key issues for the benefit and safety of the American people, by grandstanding and politicizing the investigation into Russia's actions, James Comey created unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russia. The investigation would have always continued, and obviously, the termination of Comey would not have ended it. Once again, the real story is that our national security has been undermined by the leaking of private and highly classified conversations.

Is that really the kind of path we want to go down?

If we're not going to fulfill our obligations, I think the Mexican government will look for opportunities to take back some of their obligations under the treaty, at the end of the day, this could easily affect jobs.

You had someone who was despicable as Hitler who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons, so you have to, if you are Russia, ask yourself is this a country and a regime that you want to align yourself with.

I was obviously trying to make a point about the heinous acts that Assad had made against his own people last week, using chemical weapons and gas. Frankly, I mistakenly made an inappropriate and insensitive reference to the Holocaust, for which there is no comparison, and for that I apologize. It was a mistake to do that.

I do believe that you ’ll see greater enforcement of it, i think that when you see something like the opioid addiction crisis blossoming in so many states around this country, the last thing that we should be doing is encouraging people.
