The Republican Senate has started off as the least productive, most partisan, most contentious Senate in recent memory, from bypassing committees on every single bill so far to trying to silence senators who dared to disagree with him to failing to hold a single Friday vote, Sen. McConnell is running a closed and partisan process that is extremely unproductive for the middle class.

Reid put up with years and years of incredible amounts of obstruction, and pressure from his base, before he finally went nuclear, mcConnell, by sort of signaling he's going to do it beforehand -- literally the very first opportunity to go nuclear, he's pulling the trigger.

The filibuster is effectively gone. If you don't filibuster Gorsuch, McConnell will just get rid of it next time.

To yank the bill out of committee and rush it to the floor unilaterally with no input from the Democrats who have worked very hard on this issue makes it clear that Republicans are looking to score cheap political points instead of producing the bipartisan outcome that is Israel's best interest, that action, in the blink of an eye, undermines a tremendous amount of bipartisan effort to move the process forward in a way that kept Democrats and Republicans together.
