In a normal two-way race, one candidate attacks the other and it's assumed the vote will go to them, in a field this wide, you don't know what your decision could do to the rest of the vote, the rest of the field.

This part of the primary is the first and second date, successful candidates will be the ones who voters want a third date with – no voter is ready for a marriage proposal yet.

Most voters are just learning the candidates' names, right now, the priority for a candidate is to introduce themselves and show what their values are and how that's the answer to what we have in the White House.

You can see where voters would have no way to figure out whether this is a rally of sympathizers - or subversives.

The winning message is the one primary voters believe is authentically who you are, so, if your career has been centered on bringing people together and creating a more hopeful and optimistic politics, then that's what you should run on, because anything else with be called out as BS.

If I was a swing-district Republican told to vote for a bill as bad as the last one that now guts (protections for those with) pre-existing conditions too, I'd wonder what they were smoking.
