There are some real difficulties when some people are remote and everybody else is in person. You forget about that [ remote ] person, you don't know what they are doing, you don't think to talk to them because it takes extra effort.

They have to be conscious all the time of remote people, the hardest thing is going to be the promotion or evaluation at the end of the year to be unbiased about people you haven't seen very much.
