There are two inter-city rivalries in New York and LA but apart from these it is difficult due to the size of the country, for Philadelphia the local rivals are DC United and the New York teams, the fans still get up for these and treat them as a derby.

The Glasgow rivalry is unique and can not be replicated and you will not see anything like that around the world, but the Sons of Ben also have a unique story in as much as they started before the Philadelphia Union team, they were the catalyst and reason why Philadelphia finally gained an MLS team.

A lot has changed, not only has the standard of play increased but also from an infrastructure stand point as well, you see a lot more soccer specific stadiums that have been built around Champions League, every team now has an academy system which is very important, not only for developing our youth team players for the MLS but also to give them exposure to professional soccer and help their development as a professional player wherever that may be.
