There is a developing trend regarding the sexual exploitation of children in Africa where pedophiles, especially from Western countries, take advantage of under-resourced child protection systems, and weaknesses in law enforcement and judicial systems. The Bery Glaser case is just one example of this deeply concerning phenomenon, the Ugandan government now has a significant opportunity to send a message to would-be perpetrators of child sexual exploitation and child trafficking that they can not exploit with impunity and will be held fully accountable for their crimes.
