As a result of the legalization of medical around the start of the war, many veterans I think felt like they could consider it as an option and began experimenting, for the most part, the results are in—and it’s very promising the manner in which [medical marijuana] can affect their lives.

They can reconnect to their community in a capacity where it feels like they’re contributing, and that’s huge, when you give someone food and get to watch their eyes light up and you grew that. One of the number one reactions to PTSD is isolation. If you do n’t ever become a farmer, that’s okay. But if you find three or four really good veteran friends and you hang out and talk about plants and maybe grow some tomatoes — that’s f — king awesome. That’s a win.
