Trump has no standing whatever to insist that the House do impeachment the way he would like it done.

Trump has already admitted the essentials – he called a foreign leader and asked him to use the legal engines of a foreign government to produce dirt on Trump's American political rival.

If he did, and there was no plausible reason of state for his actions, that's impeachable.

As majority leader, she has the de facto if not the legal power to keep the Judiciary Committee or any other committee from driving full bore toward impeachment, that is the reality of the hierarchy of the House.

They quite plainly decided this is a political process and it is ultimately a political judgment, so when Trump suggests there is any judicial remedy for impeachment, he is just wrong.
